The traditional 'Thai' (yoga) massage is an ancient form of massage with a rich history, contributing to your well-being and relaxation in various ways. The massage dates back over 2,600 years and was preserved and practiced in Northern Thailand.
It is not just a massage; it is a profound and unique experience that helps balance the energy within the body. This is achieved through a harmonious blend of stretching and pressure techniques, combined with elegant Tai Chi movements and passive yoga poses. It is beneficial for both the giver and the receiver.
In the gentle embrace of this technique, the practitioner tunes into the subtle language of the recipient’s body, offering a touch that is intuitive, very safe, and caring. Unlike conventional massages, this experience takes place on a mat on the floor, where both practitioner and client remain fully clothed, without the use of oils.
The beauty of this massage lies in its rich heritage and evolution. In the 1980s, the massage legend Rahul Bharti undertook extensive research to carefully integrate the various elements of this ancient discipline. His dedication culminated in a method that deeply resonates with the original massage of Dr. Jivaka Kumar Baccha, the revered healer considered the creator of this sacred massage and a physician of the Buddha himself.
What makes this massage special are the unique, uninterrupted, and smooth movements that Rahul Bharti introduced— a meditative dance that elegantly connects the body, mind, and soul. As these flowing movements unfold, they cultivate a profound awareness of energy and motion, fostering a deep sense of well-being and inner peace.
